For Washington parents whose teen keeps saying "I'll study later"

Your teen will not read a 100-page driver guide.
They will beat a boss that quotes it.

Yes, this is a video game. That is the point. The laws, numbers, and road signs come straight from the official WA Driver Guide, and the only way forward is answering questions. There is nothing to skim.

One test. Five ways in.

All five worlds run on the same fact core from the WA Driver Guide. Same laws, same numbers, same signs. Your kid picks the skin. You just hand over the phone.

Wasteland Academy

Neon Circuit

Starbound Academy

Space cadet school. Six planets, one permit.

Realm of Roads

High fantasy. Six dragons hoard the road laws.

Cruise Critters

Cozy pastel animals. For younger kids and nervous parents.

Why it sticks when the handbook does not

A kid can skim a chapter. A kid cannot skim a boss fight.

I · Study

The study cards show the rule but hide the key number until your kid guesses. Guessing first, even guessing wrong, makes the real answer stick harder. Researchers call this the pretesting effect. Kids call it flipping a card.

II · Battle

Six bosses per world. Answer right, you strike. Answer wrong, the boss strikes back and taunts you about it. Nobody forgets the question a boss mocked them over.

III · Redeem

Miss a question and it goes in the Mistake Ledger. The Trial of Redemption drills only those misses until each one is cleared. Weak spots do not get left behind. The game will not let them.

IV · Prove It

The mock exam is 25 questions at the same 80 percent pass bar the real DOL test uses. The breakdown names the weakest topic outright, so before test day you know exactly what is shaky and what is solid.

We did not make this up. Researchers did.

In 2013, Dunlosky and colleagues reviewed the ten most common study techniques. Practice testing and distributed practice came out on top. Re-reading and highlighting, the two things most kids actually do, landed near the bottom.

Permit Legends is those two winning techniques wearing a boss costume. The hidden-number cards run on the pretesting effect (Richland, Kornell and Kao, 2009): guess first, remember longer.

The citations are real and they are on the science page. Read the research →

Twenty dollars. Once. That is the whole business model.

One payment covers everything: no subscription, no ads, no upsells, no account. Driver's ed runs $300 to $600 around here, and a failed test means another DOL trip, more waiting, more nagging. Twenty bucks is the cheap way out.

$20 one-time
  • All 5 worlds, 6 boss battles each, one shared fact core
  • Real recorded boss voice lines in the Wasteland world
  • Mistake Ledger plus the Trial of Redemption on every miss
  • Rapid Fire timed mode for test-week cramming
  • Mock exams: 25 questions, the real 80% pass bar, weakest topic named
  • Progress saves on the device, works in any phone or laptop browser
Unlock All 5 Worlds for $20

The deal, in plain English. Your kid finishes all six chapters and the mock exams. If they then walk into the DOL and fail the real Washington knowledge test, email us the receipt and the full $20 comes back. No forms, no argument. We can make that promise because a kid who has cleared their Mistake Ledger and passed the mock at 80 percent has already passed this test. The DOL visit just makes it official.

P.S. You do not have to decide anything today. Chapter 1 is free, no account, no card. Hand your kid the phone tonight and see if they keep playing. If they do, come back and unlock the rest for $20. And if they finish it all and still fail the real test, the $20 comes back. That is the entire deal.
